The Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Lee Kyung-yoon) announced that it operated a special tour program linking the Jinan Red Ginseng Festival with attractions around Jeonju for 150 domestic and international participants from September 18 to 19, in partnership with partner travel agencies Areum Travel and Tour Gongbang.
Designed to attract tourists by combining the Jinan Red Ginseng Festival with major tourism resources in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, this program aimed to revitalize linked visits between local festivals and surrounding tourist destinations.
Participants visited the Jinan Red Ginseng Festival, Bugwi Metasequoia Road, Sayangje Reservoir, Unilam Banilam Valley, and the Jinan Red Ginseng Research Institute. After experiencing kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) making at the festival venue, they moved to Jeonju to explore the Aju Lake Library, Deokjin Park, Jeonju Hanok Village, and Palbok Art Factory.
Alongside the tour program, the Foundation operated a promotional booth for western inland tourism during the festival period, hosting on-site events targeting visitors.
A total of 660 people participated in the western inland tourism quiz event, and 207 people participated in the 'Wamma Jeonbuk' YouTube channel subscription authentication event. The Foundation rewarded participants with local specialties and souvenirs.
The promotional booth also showcased and sold items from the 'Top 100 Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Tourism Souvenirs' and products available at the Jeonbuk Shopping Travel Lounge, while providing comprehensive Jeonbuk tourism information.
CEO Lee Kyung-yoon stated, "We connected tourism resources so that the footsteps of visitors exploring local festivals could naturally lead to nearby tourist spots. Moving forward, we will continue to expand travel programs that allow visitors to experience Jeonbuk in diverse ways by bridging local festivals with regional attractions."
Meanwhile, this tour program and on-site promotion were carried out as a follow-up project to the tourism joint marketing business agreement for the "2026–2027 Jinan Visit Year," signed by the Foundation and Jinan-gun last year. Both organizations are continuing their close cooperation to attract tourists using local festivals and tourism resources while actively promoting Jeonbuk tourism.
