YEONSU-GU, INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA – Yeonsu-gu, a vibrant district within the bustling metropolitan city of Incheon, is gearing up for a grand celebration of its 30th anniversary with the highly anticipated ‘KBS National Singing Contest.’ This iconic national program, renowned for showcasing the singing talents of ordinary citizens, will hold its Yeonsu-gu edition final recording on Friday, May 3rd, at 2:00 PM KST. The picturesque Haedoji Park is slated to be the main venue, with the spacious gymnasium at the Incheon Global Campus secured as an alternative in the event of inclement weather.

In a bid to engage the local community in this momentous milestone, Yeonsu-gu is inviting its residents, excluding professional singers, to take center stage. A preliminary audition, crucial for selecting the finalists, will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, at the Yeonsu Art Hall, located within the district's main government building. The initial application phase aims to accommodate 300 enthusiastic teams on a first-come, first-served basis. From this pool of talent, approximately 15 exceptional acts will be chosen to compete in the televised final round.

Eligibility for participation extends beyond just residency. Employees and students who are affiliated with businesses and educational institutions situated within Yeonsu-gu are also encouraged to apply, further highlighting the district's inclusive spirit. Aspiring participants can obtain and submit their application forms in person at the Culture and Tourism Division of the Yeonsu-gu Office, the Songdo Administration Division at the Yeonsu-gu Second Government Building, or their local community (Dong) administrative welfare centers. The application period will run from Monday, April 14th, to Friday, April 23rd, with a final submission deadline of 6:00 PM KST.

The final recording on May 3rd promises to be a spectacular event, brimming with both amateur talent and professional entertainment. The charismatic MC Nam Hee-seok will guide the proceedings, while a stellar lineup of celebrated Korean singers is set to grace the stage with their performances. The guest artist roster includes the esteemed Kim Sung-hwan, the energetic Park Hyun-bin, the soulful Son Tae-jin, the powerful vocalist Park Hye-shin, and the rising star Shin Su-a, ensuring a diverse and captivating show for all attendees.

Lee Jae-ho, the Mayor of Yeonsu-gu, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, "As we commemorate the 30th anniversary of Yeonsu-gu's establishment, we are delighted to host the ‘KBS National Singing Contest.’ We envision this event as a vibrant platform for our residents to come together in unity, foster communication, and wholeheartedly showcase their unique talents and unwavering passion. It is our sincere hope that this will be a truly joyful and memorable festival for everyone in Yeonsu-gu."

The hosting of the ‘KBS National Singing Contest’ underscores Yeonsu-gu's commitment to celebrating its rich history while fostering community engagement and providing a platform for local talent to shine on a national stage. This event is expected to draw significant attention and participation, further solidifying Yeonsu-gu's position as a dynamic and culturally vibrant district within Incheon.
