Nighttime wellness with family, connected with the tourism and local consumption through the ‘Seomyeon Lake Starlight Festival’

The Gangwon Tourism Organization (CEO Choi Sung-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the Organization) successfully held its representative night tourism and wellness program, 'Starlight Yoga,' on September 19 at the outdoor space of the Chuncheon Animation Museum, drawing approximately 200 participants.

This 'Starlight Yoga' was designed as a wellness program utilizing Chuncheon's nature and night scenery, aiming to provide tourists with unique nighttime experiences and vitalize stay-type tourism through night tourism contents. Pre-registration showed high interest, selling out its 150-person capacity early, prompting the Organization to accept an additional 50 walk-in participants, bringing the total to 200.

Participants spent time resting their bodies and minds away from daily routines by experiencing yoga and meditation programs against the backdrop of Chuncheon's lakes and natural scenery. The program was organized in an outdoor space harmonized with nature so that participants could experience Chuncheon's night tourism and wellness together.

In particular, the event was linked with Chuncheon's representative festival, the ‘Seomyeon Lake Starlight Festival,’ allowing participants to experience various tourism contents within the festival venue. Furthermore, by providing participants with Chuncheon Love Gift Certificates, the program encouraged them to use local food, beverage, tourism, and leisure facilities after the event, linking tourist activities to local consumption.

Various experience programs were also prepared considering the participation of family units. Activities included profile photography, making plant flower crowns, drawing using natural plants, making pet stones, and making LED pinwheels. Separate spaces were arranged for families with children and pregnant women to ensure they could enjoy the program more safely and comfortably.

Along with this, participants were provided with a welcome kit consisting of no-rope jump ropes, LED rose flowers, Jellyfarm jellies, multi-vitamins, and non-alcoholic beer, enhancing satisfaction and adding various experiential elements.

The Organization explained that this ‘Starlight Yoga’ is significant in that it confirmed the possibility of linking night tourism contents with local festivals and tourism resources, and expanded tourists' activities in the region during nighttime hours. Following the high response from the 'Starlight Yoga' held at Yeongwol Cheongnyeongpwon in the first half of the year, this event also successfully concluded, confirming the continuous development potential of nighttime wellness content utilizing local nature, culture, and tourism resources. The Organization plans to continuously discover and operate differentiated contents linking regional characteristic tourism resources and night tourism in the future, contributing to the revitalization of stay-type tourism in Gangwon-do and regional economic development.

Choi Sung-hyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Organization, said, "Through this 'Starlight Yoga,' tourists were able to experience wellness amidst Chuncheon's beautiful night scenery and enjoy the region's diverse tourism resources together," adding, "We will continue to develop differentiated night tourism contents that bring out regional characteristics, striving to revitalize Gangwon-do's stay-type tourism and lead it to regional tourism and economic development."
