Las Vegas, NV – Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng is set to unveil its production-ready modular flying car, the Land Aircraft Carrier (LAC), at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next year.
According to Caixin Global, Xpeng AeroHT, Xpeng's aviation subsidiary, announced that the LAC will make its debut at CES 2025. While Xpeng has been showcasing flying car concepts since 2022, this will be the first time the company has presented a fully functional prototype.
The modular flying car, which can seamlessly transition between driving on roads and flying in the air, has already completed its maiden flight and secured over 2,000 pre-orders. Xpeng is currently conducting extensive testing in China.
Although the company has no immediate plans to launch the flying car in North America, its participation in CES is seen as a strategic move to raise global awareness of the product. Xpeng AeroHT aims to begin mass production of the LAC in 2026, with an annual output of 10,000 units. The flying car is expected to be priced around 2 million yuan (approximately $280,000).
The LAC is designed to offer a unique blend of ground and air transportation. Its modular design allows for easy disassembly and reassembly, making it convenient for both urban and suburban commuting.
