Chungcheong Region Tourism Promotion Council conducts local promotional activities in Shanghai and Hangzhou from the 19th to the 22nd

The Chungcheong Region Tourism Promotion Council actively promoted the tourism resources and major events of the four Chungcheong provinces and municipalities in Shanghai and Hangzhou, China, conducting local marketing to attract Chinese tourists.

* Chungcheong Region Tourism Promotion Council: A joint project funded and promoted by the four Chungcheong cities and provinces. This year's hosting province is Chungcheongnam-do, with the head of the council serving as the Head of the province's Tourism Promotion Division.

From the 19th to the 22nd, the Council visited Shanghai and Hangzhou to carry out local tourism promotional activities (sales calls) targeting local tourism-related organizations and the travel industry.

This initiative was designed to raise awareness within the Chinese tourism market by linking the tourism resources of the four Chungcheong cities and provinces, and to expand the development and sales of tourism products in cooperation with the local tourism industry.

The Council visited the Korea Tourism Organization's Shanghai Office and the Trip.com Group headquarters to share trends in the Chinese outbound tourism market to Korea and discuss ways to expand the promotion and sales of Chungcheong tourism products.

In addition, the Council held a tourism briefing session for the local tourism industry to introduce the tourism resources and linked tourism products of the four cities and provinces, and sought cooperative measures to attract Chinese tourists.

In particular, the Council introduced major international events such as the 2027 Sejong Hangul Biennale, Island Biennale, World Youth Day, and the Chungcheong Summer World University Games, alongside representative festivals and events of the Chungcheong region including the Daejeon Bread Festival and the Osong Cosmetics Beauty Industry Expo, inducing visits from Chinese tourists.

Building on these promotional activities, the Council plans to expand its cooperative foundation with the local tourism industry and continuously pursue the development of competitive tourism products linking Chungcheong's tourism resources and joint marketing.

"This local promotional activity was an occasion where the four Chungcheong cities and provinces joined forces to publicize the region's diverse charms in the Chinese tourism market and discuss cooperation plans with the local tourism industry," said Baek Eun-sook, Chairperson of the Chungcheong Region Tourism Promotion Council (Head of the Provincial Tourism Promotion Division). "We will continue to strengthen the development of tourism products linked with tourism resources and joint marketing to drive the increase of Chinese tourists visiting and staying in the Chungcheong region."
