- Programs featuring performances, media art, and interactive events to be held at the National Sejong Arboretum from October 29 to 31

The Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Park Young-guk) announced that it will host the 2026 "Light ON Sejong" event from October 29 to 31 at the Festival Square area of the National Sejong Arboretum, as part of the "Sejong Night Out Week" in October.

Held under the theme "Youth-Made, Radiant Autumn Nights of Sejong," this collaborative night-tourism event is co-organized by Sejong City and the Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation, alongside the National Sejong Arboretum, the Korean National Symphony Orchestra, the Sejong Anchor Project Group (Korea University, Korea National University of Media Arts, and Hongik University), and the Sejong Institute for Employment and Economic Promotion. It is also sponsored by the 2027 Chungcheong Universiade Organizing Committee.

On the opening day, October 29 (Thursday), the festival kicks off with "Forest of Breath," a performance by the Korean National Symphony Concert Orchestra, composed of talented young musicians. Crossover group Libelante and harmonica player Park Jong-sung will fill the arboretum with rich autumn melodies.

On the second day, October 30 (Friday), a variety of communication and cultural events will unfold starting during the day. Through the "From My Job to Tomorrow" Forum hosted by the Sejong Institute for Employment and Economic Promotion, Professor Tak Hyun-min will deliver a keynote speech, followed by panel discussions exploring Sejong’s MICE industry and future jobs.

In the evening of the same day, the classical performance "Forest Light" by the Korean National Symphony Concert Orchestra will follow. Visitors can also experience "The Fallen Giant," a piece by KAIST Professor Lee Jin-joon that combines media art and choir. In addition, the "Light ON STAGE" will feature performances by Korea University’s cheering squad, singer Parc Jae-jung, and the Criet Company.

On the final day, October 31 (Saturday), following the orchestra’s film music concert, "Light ON STAGE" will be filled with talented and popular artists, including popera singer Go Eun-sol, jazz band zip4, and Blue Is Not Blue.

Furthermore, content that visitors can enjoy throughout the event will be operated. Generative AI creative content produced directly by university students from Korea University, Korea National University of Media Arts, and Hongik University, a K-POP random play dance with influencer Nihuh, and a flea market will be provided. In particular, a promotional pavilion for the 2027 Chungcheong Universiade, a global sports festival, will be operated together to add meaning to the event.

CEO Park Young-guk stated, "This event is an occasion to showcase Sejong’s new night-tourism content by gathering the expertise of various institutions and the creativity of local university youths," adding, "We hope citizens and visitors will enjoy Sejong’s autumn nights where performances, lights, and nature come together."

Detailed information about the event can be found via the official Visit Sejong Instagram account (@visitsejong_official) or by contacting the Tourism Planning Team (044-850-0562).
