Starting from the 4th, consumers across South Korea will be able to purchase a variety of domestic fresh foods using agricultural food e-vouchers at their local convenience stores. This initiative, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, aims to support low-income families by providing access to nutritious food.

The program, which was piloted in 24 local governments last year, has now been expanded nationwide. Eligible households include those receiving livelihood benefits with incomes below 32% of the median income, particularly those with pregnant women, infants, or children. Beneficiaries will receive 40,000 won per person per month, with a maximum support of 180,000 won.

From the 4th until the end of the year, consumers can use their e-vouchers to purchase a range of domestic products at participating convenience store chains such as GS25, CU, 7-Eleven, and Emart24. Available items include fruits, vegetables, white milk, fresh eggs, meat, grains, and tofu. This initiative covers 229 local governments nationwide.

"This expansion of the agricultural food e-voucher program to convenience stores will significantly improve access to fresh, healthy foods for low-income families," said a spokesperson from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. "We are committed to supporting our communities and ensuring everyone has access to nutritious options."

For more detailed information, residents can contact their local administrative welfare center or visit the agricultural food voucher website at www.foodvoucher.go.kr.
