Applications open on the official website until the 30th… Packed with supplementary programs including theatrical performances and nostalgic games

The Gangwon Tourism Organization (CEO Choi Sung-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the "Organization"), in collaboration with Kangwon Land Inc. and Jeongseon-gun, announced that it is accepting participants for the "2nd Untang Godo Wishing Road Trekking" through its official website until Friday, October 30.

This year's event will feature three courses centered around Untang Godo 1330 Trail Course 5 within High1 Resort: the Wish Fulfillment Road (8.1 km), the Wish Companion Road (5.5 km), and the Wish Enjoyment Road (3 km). Going beyond simple walking, this year’s event has prepared a variety of auxiliary programs allowing participants to directly experience the history and culture of a former coal-mining village.

In particular, storytelling plays depicting the stories of miners and their families, along with miner performances, will take place at major checkpoints such as Dorongyi Pond and the 1177 Adit. Additionally, interactive experiences will be offered, including writing wishes and resolutions on the "Wish Ribbon" and ringing the "Bell of Wishes" to send out resonant aspirations.

At the former site of Unnak Elementary School, a space featuring nostalgic games such as biseokchigi (stone-throwing game), ttakjichigi (paper tile flipping), and gongginori (knucklebones) will be set up, with small prizes awarded to those who successfully complete the missions. At the main venue, the Mountain Plaza, a variety of experience booths will operate, including a Polaroid photo zone, an air-ball prize event, and eco-friendly potted plant making.

Applications can be submitted on the official website (https://www.untantrekking.com/) until Friday, October 30, on a first-come, first-served basis. The participation fee is 25,000 won, of which 15,000 won will be refunded as Jeongseon Arirang Gift Certificates. These certificates can be used at the Jeongseon local market, "Maenggeuljang," held at the Mountain Grass Plaza on the day of the event. Participants will also receive completion souvenirs and a cable car voucher.

Choi Sung-hyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Organization, stated, "This year, we have strengthened contents that participants can enjoy firsthand, such as Untang Godo’s unique storytelling, intergenerational empathetic games, and eco-friendly experiences," adding, "We hope you will create special memories with your precious loved ones."
