Gyeongju Expo Grand Park's "EX Pumpkin Night" Kicks Off on the 24th

Unique Nighttime Content Featuring Hwani, Woni, and the Twelve Zodiac Animals Rich Attractions Including 12-Themed Experience Courses and Photo Zones... Running Until October 24th

Following the summer horror content "EX-HORROR," "EX Pumpkin Night" is returning to transform the autumn nights of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park into a special Halloween experience.

The Gyeongbuk Culture & Tourism Corporation (President Kim Nam-il) announced that it will operate the "2026 EX Pumpkin Night: Hwani & Woni X Twelve Zodiac Animals" for a month starting on the 24th through October 24th at the Hwarang Forest (Luminite) of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park.

Under the theme "The Guardians of Silla Enter the World of Pumpkin Night," this year's EX Pumpkin Night features character content combining Hwani and Woni, the mascots of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park, with the twelve zodiac animals found on Silla royal tombs. By reinterpreting the traditional image of guardians in a friendly way and adding a unique Halloween atmosphere, the event presents autumn night content that both children and adults can enjoy together.

The Hwarang Forest will feature a Halloween experience course composed of 12 themed spaces. Through special direction and photo zones tailored to each space, such as the "Witch's Wardrobe" and the "Ghost Cabin," visitors will be offered a variety of experiences.

A rich lineup of auxiliary programs is also prepared. Inside the venue, experience and sales booths offering Halloween makeup, costume experiences, and food and beverages will be operated, while a mini stage will showcase DJ performances and visitor-participatory programs. Unique photo zones and social media events will also be set up throughout the venue.

Events such as a Gyeongju Expo Grand Park social media follow event and a revisit event for "EX-HORROR" visitors will be held. During the Chuseok holiday, pumpkin characters wearing traditional Hanbok will appear to add to the holiday festive mood. In addition, a Chuseok-limited event will present souvenirs to visitors who post authentication photos containing both "Hanbok" and "Pumpkins" on social media.

The "TIMELESS KINGDOM: Silla Three Treasures Card Collection Event," linking seasonal content, will also continue. This involves collecting one "Silla Three Treasures" card representing Silla by participating in the summer, autumn, and winter events.

The summer event "EX-HORROR" offered the "Geumcheok" card, while the upcoming "EX Pumpkin Night" will provide the "Okjeok" card, with the final "Hwaju" card to be introduced in the winter content. For visitors who missed the summer event and could not receive the "Geumcheok" card, a special card will also be prepared. Visitors who collect all three cards will be offered a special reward through a raffle.

Gyeongju Expo Grand Park has been expanding attractions for year-round visitors by successively presenting content that highlights the characteristics of each season. Starting with "EXPO, REST Booknic" in May, it has operated content suited to each season, including "EX-HORROR" in August, "EX Pumpkin Night" in September and October, and "EX Winter" in December. In particular, in November, a food festival and academic conference capturing the historical nature of the Silk Road and the meaning of cultural exchange are scheduled to be held, presenting global cultural content.

Kim Nam-il, President of the Gyeongbuk Culture & Tourism Corporation, said, "This year's EX Pumpkin Night has been prepared as Gyeongju Expo Grand Park's unique autumn night content by combining our mascots Hwani and Woni with the twelve zodiac animals," adding, "Through various content highlighting seasonal traits, we will provide joy and special experiences to tourists so that the recent upward trend in visitors can continue into the second half of the year."
