The Chungnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (hereinafter referred to as Chungnam CCEI) supported promising startups in the Chungnam region to enter the Vietnamese market, achieving significant results in expanding exports.
Chungnam CCEI supported the participation of five local startup companies in the '2026 Vietfood & Beverage' held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 6 to 8.
This project was established as part of the "Chungnam Innovative Capacity Companies Overseas Market Development Support Project," which aims to help innovative local companies in Chungnam Province venture into overseas markets. In particular, it provided support so that local startups seeking to enter the Southeast Asian market could meet face-to-face with local buyers, present their products, and confirm their export potential.
Five Chungnam-based startups participated in this exhibition: Myungwon Co., Ltd., Haeyou Co., Ltd., Baekkaop Food, Gravity Co., Ltd., and Han Distillery Co., Ltd.
'Vietfood & Beverage' is Vietnam's premier international food and beverage trade fair, attended by global companies and buyers across various sectors, including food, beverage, bakery, and F&B (Food and Beverage) industries.
Participating companies introduced their respective products to the local market, offering product tastings and consultations to directly gauge Vietnamese consumers' preferences and market trends.
Furthermore, they engaged in active business consultations with local distributors and buyers, increasing their potential to expand overseas sales channels.
Chungnam CCEI assisted participating companies with booth operations while facilitating buyer consultations in connection with local partner organizations to ensure practical export discussions and market expansion.
As a result, participating companies signed a total of 34 export Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with local buyers, achieving results worth approximately $8.43 million. A total of 112 business meetings were conducted, with on-site consultation values reaching approximately $14.3 million.
Chungnam CCEI explained that these achievements represent a more than two-fold increase in key metrics—such as the number of MOUs signed, consultation values, and expected contract amounts—compared to the previous year, serving as an opportunity to confirm the potential of Chungnam startups entering the Southeast Asian market.
In particular, as Vietnam boasts a rapidly growing domestic market and strong scalability into the broader Southeast Asian market, it is expected to serve as a strategic base for startups in the Chungnam region to accelerate their overseas expansion.
An official from Chungnam CCEI stated, “The explosively growing Vietnamese domestic market is a powerful strategic testbed for startups in our province to expand throughout Southeast Asia. Based on the achievements confirmed at this exhibition, we will further expand customized overseas market entry support programs led by CCEI so that promising startups in our province can generate tangible export results on the global stage.”
