The charms of Okcheon, Boeun, and Yeongdong in one place: Enjoy an affordable 'Okboyeong Trip' with various benefits

In celebration of Chuseok, a variety of programs are underway to make traveling to the three southern counties of Chungbuk—Okcheon, Boeun, and Yeongdong—more affordable and convenient.

Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the Okboyeong Regional Tourism Organization (DMO) is operating various travel benefits to help visitors conveniently experience the diverse tourism resources of Okcheon, Boeun, and Yeongdong, and to encourage them to stay longer and spend locally. These programs include ▲'A Very Special Trip with Okboyeong', ▲'Okboyeong Theme Bus Travel Package', and ▲'Okboyeong Consumption Promotion Linked with Digital Tourism Resident Cards'.

A key feature of these programs is that they are structured to allow everyone from individual travelers to family and friend units to enjoy the three southern counties according to their own travel styles and preferences.

From Special Experiences to Local Flavors, ‘A Very Special Trip with Okboyeong’
'A Very Special Trip with Okboyeong' is an experiential travel program designed so that participants can directly plan and experience trips to Okcheon, Boeun, and Yeongdong, discovering the charms of the three southern counties.

Travelers can directly experience local culture, food, and experiential contents to feel the individuality of each region. Rather than simply touring sightseeing spots, they can enjoy a unique 'Okboyeong' travel experience through joint programs with local residents.

In particular, travel expenses are supported so that a diverse range of tourists—including the 2030 generation looking to briefly escape repetitive daily routines and experience new regions, as well as family and friend units—can travel more easily through the three southern counties.

Departing Comfortably by Bus: The ‘Okboyeong Theme Bus’
If you want to travel around Okcheon, Boeun, and Yeongdong without transportation worries, you can use the ‘Okboyeong Theme Bus Travel Package’.

The theme bus is a travel product composed by linking the major tourist attractions and local contents of the three southern counties. It is operated so that tourists can move by bus according to a fixed schedule and conveniently tour multiple regions.

Centering around single-day products, it links regional tourist attractions, experiences, and food to enhance travel convenience. By reducing the burden on travelers to directly plan itineraries and move around, even first-time visitors to the three southern counties can travel easily.

It consists of ▲regular buses departing every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and ▲special buses that can be enjoyed alongside local festivals such as the Boeun Jujube Festival (October 16 – 25, 2026) and the Yeongdong Nangye Gugak Festival (October 15 – 18, 2026), allowing visitors to experience the region's distinctive contents more richly. Packages can be purchased through the 'Tour Sketch' website (https://www.toursketch.co.kr/).

Enjoyed with Digital Tourism Resident Cards: ‘Okboyeong Consumption Promotion’
Tourists visiting the three southern counties can also receive even richer travel benefits through the ‘Okboyeong Consumption Promotion Linked with Digital Tourism Resident Cards’.

This promotion was prepared to vitalize regional consumption by tourists by linking digital tourism resident cards with local affiliated stores, while providing practical discounts and benefits to tourists.

Various benefits can be received at participating digital tourism resident card stores in the Okcheon, Boeun, and Yeongdong regions. During their travels, tourists can utilize various local affiliated stores such as cafes, restaurants, and experience facilities, enjoying the local contents of the three southern counties more affordably.

In particular, a hallmark of this promotion is connecting tourism and local commercial districts so that tourist visits lead to actual regional consumption. By providing benefits that lower travel expense burdens for travelers and inducing tourist stays and consumption in the regions, both tourism and the local economy can gain vitality together.

Kim Kyung-sik, CEO of the Chungbuk Culture and Arts Foundation, stated, "Ahead of Chuseok, we have prepared various programs and benefits so that diverse tourists—including families, friends, and couples—can travel Okcheon, Boeun, and Yeongdong more easily and enjoyably. If you are looking for a new trip close to home this autumn, we hope you will set off for Okboyeong, which is filled with sights, experiences, food, and various benefits."

Meanwhile, 'Okboyeong' is a regional tourism brand aimed at connecting Okcheon, Boeun, and Yeongdong into a single tourism sphere to discover diverse regional tourism resources and promote stay-type tourism and the expansion of the living population. Operating under the slogan "A trip you want to hold onto the longer you stay, Okboyeong," it is promoting various tourism projects linked with the natural, cultural, gastronomic, and experiential contents of the three southern counties. Detailed information can be found on the Chungbuk Culture and Arts Foundation Tourism Business Division website (https://www.cbtour.or.kr/home/main.php).
