Known for their miniature figures with haunting expressions and intricate details, Tobe's works blur the lines between art and play.
Tobe, who chooses to remain anonymous, has been creating art toys since 2012. Their latest exhibition, "Breaking the Rules," offers a personal and introspective journey through their artistic evolution. Each miniature figure, dubbed 'P,' is a self-portrait, capturing various facets of the artist's life and experiences.
One of the most striking aspects of Tobe's work is their experimentation with materials. While resin has been a staple in the art toy world for its versatility, Tobe has ventured into the realm of bronze for this exhibition. The intricate details and rich patina of the bronze sculptures add a new dimension to their creations. The piece, "Unbreakable Line," which depicts a figure reaching towards the sky with a paintbrush, is a powerful symbol of overcoming adversity and pursuing one's passions.
