Sejong Hangul Festival Reborn as a Republic of Korea Culture and Tourism Festival Launches 'Target-Customized' Promotion

Expanding from the Seoul metropolitan area to foreign visitors, aiming to leap into a 'Nationwide Culture and Tourism Festival'

The City of Sejong (Mayor Cho Sang-ho) and the Sejong City Foundation for Arts and Culture (CEO Park Young-guk) are rolling out promotional campaigns tailored to the living areas and interests of visitors ahead of the '2026 Sejong Hangul Festival' scheduled for October.

■ Expanding beyond a Chungcheong-region weekend festival to the Seoul metropolitan area and foreign visitors, aiming to leap into a 'Nationwide Culture and Tourism Festival'

As the Sejong Hangul Festival establishes itself as a representative culture and tourism festival, it is strengthening target-oriented promotions that consider visitors' residential areas and travel routes. In addition to localized promotions for weekend visitors primarily from the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions, the festival will be promoted as an 'optimal autumn travel destination' for the Hangul Day holiday targeting visitors from the Seoul metropolitan area and nationwide. Furthermore, transportation information such as KTX and express buses will be linked with detailed festival information on KakaoMap to enhance accessibility for nationwide visitors. Moreover, customized multilingual information will be provided to foreign visitors so they can deeply experience the charm of Hangul and K-culture, expanding its standing as a global festival.

■ Presenting a Variety of Generation-Tailored Contents

Information on contents will be further segmented according to visitors' age groups and interests. ▲ For family visitors, participatory experience programs and venue guidance will be provided as top priorities, while promotions targeting the MZ generation will focus on nightscape views stimulating SNS sensibilities and prime viewing photo spots. ▲ For the middle-aged and older generations, comfortable and pleasant viewing environments will be guided to create a festival enjoyed by all generations.

■ Implementing Experiential Pre-Promotion Encountered in Daily Life

To raise anticipation before the festival, on-site, close-range pre-promotions utilizing everyday spaces will be conducted. Festival promotional items such as aprons, wet wipes, and cup holders will be distributed to Sejong's beloved restaurants and some 50 major restaurants and cafes located within a 1km radius of the festival venue.

Han Kyung-ah, Director of the Tourism Business Division, stated, "Rather than delivering the same information to everyone, we focused on providing information tailored to visitors' living areas and generation-specific interests. We will continue differentiated promotions so that people can easily access necessary information from the process of visiting Sejong to the moment of enjoying the festival."

Meanwhile, the '2026 Sejong Hangul Festival', Sejong City's representative autumn festival, is scheduled to welcome visitors with diverse programs from October 9 to 11 around Sejong Lake Park and Sejong Central Park, and will continue its promotion through social media and media reports.
