Collaboration on Independence Movement Content Activation and 80th Anniversary of Liberation Projects

Independence Hall (Director Kim Hyung-seok) announced that on Thursday, May 29, it signed a business agreement with the Chungnam Institute for Content Industry (Director Kim Gok-mi) to "revitalize independence movement content and promote win-win cooperation between both organizations."

Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to pursue various cooperative measures for their development, including:

Mutual exchange for activating independence movement-related exhibitions, education, research, and content.
Sharing and utilizing academic resources, information, and professional personnel related to collaborative projects.
Cooperation in public relations.
This agreement is expected to provide an opportunity to spread the spirit of independence by linking the independence movement, which is the spiritual foundation of Korea, with the content industry. This will provide the public with content that integrates history and culture. The two organizations plan to continue their cooperation to enhance the cultural value of the Chungnam region and create achievements that strengthen the competitiveness of the local content industry.

Prior to the agreement, both organizations were already actively discussing the practical implementation of their collaboration. A special screening of the KBS documentary <My Friend Yun Bong-gil>, produced as part of the Chungnam Institute for Content Industry's "2025 Chungnam Video and Film Production Support Project," is scheduled to be held at the Independence Hall's MR Exhibition Hall in August to commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation. Additionally, interactive content based on digital humans, produced through the "Chungnam ICT/Data Commercialization Support Project," will be exhibited at the "Independence Hall Maple Tree Forest Healing Festival."

Director Kim Gok-mi stated, "Local content is a creative means to connect the past with the present and future by embodying historical narratives." She added, "Based on the content-related infrastructure and expertise that the Institute possesses, we will work with Independence Hall to activate the production of content utilizing Chungnam's regional resources, thereby widely promoting the history of the independence movement, which is the pride of our region."

Director Kim Hyung-seok remarked, "I find it meaningful to have laid the groundwork for spreading the spirit of the independence movement in a more creative way through this agreement." He also stated, "We will effectively combine the resources of Independence Hall with those of the Institute to create achievements that contribute to the public and the local community."
