SEOUL — Nongshim's new snack, Wasabi Saewookkang, has become an instant hit, selling over 1.8 million bags within just two weeks of its launch. This remarkable performance has already surpassed the initial sales of its previous blockbuster product, Meoktaekkang.

According to Nongshim, the new product, which was released on August 4, sold more than 1.8 million bags by August 18. This figure is approximately 40% higher than Meoktaekkang's initial two-week sales of 1.3 million bags.

Nongshim attributes the snack's success to the unique combination of the classic savory flavor of Saewookkang (Shrimp Crackers) with the sharp, zesty kick of wasabi. This distinct taste profile has made it a popular choice for consumers looking for a new type of snack or a great pairing with drinks. The product has also generated significant buzz on social media and online communities, contributing to its rapid sales growth.

In response to the overwhelming demand, Nongshim has enlisted actor Kang Yoo-seok as the face of the new campaign and plans to collaborate with various popular brands, including those in the book, alcohol, and dinnerware industries, to further expand its market presence. The company aims to capitalize on the current momentum and introduce the unique appeal of Wasabi Saewookkang to a wider audience.
