Chungnam Province has announced the selection of its top regional festivals for 2025, with a particular focus on nurturing three festivals to achieve international status.

The results of the '2025 1-City, 1-Product Festival' evaluation, released on the 26th, revealed that Cheonan Hyungtaryeong Dance Festival, Gyeryong Military Culture Festival, and Seosan Haemi Fortress Festival were selected as top-tier 'ilpum' festivals. The province aims to develop these festivals into representative events for Chungnam and drive the success of the '2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year' campaign.

The 15 festivals selected this year underwent a rigorous evaluation by experts, considering factors such as regional economic activation, tourist satisfaction, and festival quality. Particular emphasis was placed on efforts for sustainable festival operations, including carbon neutrality practices and safety management systems.

Chungnam Province will allocate a budget of 2 billion won to these selected festivals, a 1.7-fold increase from the previous year. This funding will be used to enhance the quality of the festivals, provide diverse attractions and experiential programs, and address issues such as price gouging to improve visitor satisfaction.

A Chungnam Province official stated, "Through this festival support, we aim to revitalize the local economy and showcase Chungnam's cultural value to the world. We encourage the active participation and interest of our residents."
