Yusung, South Korea – Nestled in the heart of Daejeon, the Yusung Hot Springs have been a cherished destination for over a millennium. With a rich history dating back to the Three Kingdoms period, these thermal waters have long been renowned for their healing properties and cultural significance.

A Journey Through Time

Historical records reveal that even Korea's Joseon Dynasty founders, King Taejo and King Taejong, sought solace in the soothing waters of Yusung. The springs, teeming with over 60 beneficial minerals, have traditionally been sought after for their therapeutic effects on various ailments, including neurological disorders, obesity, and gynecological issues.

Reviving a Historic Gem

However, the once-bustling hot spring district faced a decline in the 2010s, with the closure of prominent hotels like Hongin, Yujin, and Rivera. The recent closure of the Yusung Hotel further threatened the future of this historic destination.

But Yusung is not giving up. The city is actively working to revitalize this iconic landmark, aiming to create a vibrant hot spring culture that resonates with modern travelers.

Yusung offers far more than just a place to soak. It's a destination that immerses visitors in a rich tapestry of history, culture, and wellness.
