New Delhi, India – Kia Corporation has unveiled its latest innovation, the Syros, a sub-4-meter compact SUV, making its global debut in India. Designed to offer a bold design, comfortable interior, and advanced technology, the Syros is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive compact SUV segment.

The name "Syros" is derived from the Greek island of the same name, known for its blend of traditional and Western cultures. Kia aims to differentiate the Syros from its competitors by reflecting the island's unique character, offering a vehicle that embodies both heritage and modernity.

Bold Design and Spacious Interior

Kia's signature "Opposites United" design philosophy is evident in the Syros's bold yet functional exterior. The front end features the iconic Starmap LED lighting and a digital Tiger Face, giving the SUV a futuristic and assertive appearance. The side profile is characterized by sculpted lines, 17-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels, and puddle lamps with the Kia logo, contributing to its stylish and dynamic look.

Despite its compact dimensions (3,995mm length, 1,805mm width, and 1,625mm height), the Syros offers a surprisingly spacious interior thanks to a 2,550mm wheelbase. The rear seats feature sliding and reclining functionality, along with a 60:40 split-folding configuration, ensuring maximum comfort for passengers. Furthermore, ventilated seats for both the front and rear enhance the overall in-car experience.

Advanced Technology and Safety

The Syros comes equipped with a range of cutting-edge features, including a panoramic display that seamlessly integrates a 12.3-inch HD cluster, a 5-inch climate control display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Other notable interior elements include a D-cut steering wheel, dual panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting, creating a premium and modern cabin atmosphere.

In terms of connectivity, the Syros offers wireless software updates, allowing owners to keep their vehicles up-to-date without visiting a service center. Kia Connect 2.0 provides additional features such as SOS emergency assistance, real-time vehicle diagnostics, and stolen vehicle tracking.

To ensure the safety of its occupants, the Syros is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including forward collision-avoidance assist, lane-keeping assist, smart cruise control, driver attention warning, high-beam assist, surround view monitor, and rear parking collision-avoidance assist.

Powertrain Options

The Syros is offered with a choice of two powertrains: a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 120 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine delivering 116 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.

Global Expansion

"Kia is setting new standards in the Indian automotive market with customer-centric design and innovative technology," said Kwang-ku Lee, Head of Kia India. "With its advanced features and bold design, the Syros will further strengthen our position in India and other key markets."

Kia plans to commence sales of the Syros in India next year, followed by a gradual expansion into the Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, and Africa regions.
