Participation of 12 universities & linked with Youth Day... Exchange and harmony festival, operation of 49 experience booths

Cheonan City is hosting the '2026 Cheonan University Festival' on the 18th around the Olyunmun Plaza of the Cheonan Stadium, bringing together 12 universities, youth, and citizens.

The Cheonan University Festival is designed to promote the harmony of university students, youth, and citizens, while publicizing the capabilities of 'University City Cheonan' where universities and the region grow together.

In particular, this year's event is linked with the '7th Youth Day Commemorative Event', organized as a festival that can be enjoyed by not only university students but also the overall youth generation, including young adults.

The festival kicks off at 2 PM with an exchange and harmony festival featuring about 400 university students, followed by commendations for youth development contributors, awards for the cheering sports day winning universities, and performances by local youth artists.

At the opening ceremony held at 7 PM, Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo and the presidents of the 12 universities will take the stage to present a lighting performance. This will be followed by celebratory performances by invited artists such as Dynamic Duo, Choi Yu-ree, Sinse, and Hype Princess, along with a laser show.

As side events, a total of 49 booths covering university department promotions, youth policy preference voting, and artificial intelligence (AI) experiences will be prepared. In addition, participatory programs such as '2026 Kukku FESTA', 'Sauna Escape', and 'Random Friends', alongside 12 food trucks, will be operated.

As a large crowd is expected to gather, the city has completed prior inspections of the overall event operation. Intensive checks were conducted on stage and booth facilities, electrical and firefighting equipment, and visitor movement paths, alongside completing emergency contact networks and crisis response systems with related organizations such as police, fire departments, and medical institutions.

Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo stated, "The University Festival is a representative regional coexistence festival where Cheonan's 12 universities, youth, and citizens mingle together," adding, "We will do our utmost in safety preparations until right before the opening so that all citizens can enjoy the festival with peace of mind."
