Jeonbuk Bank, a member of the JB Financial Group, has become the first financial institution in South Korea to introduce both in-person and non-face-to-face financial transactions using mobile foreigner registration cards. This initiative follows the amendment of the Immigration Control Act in January, which enabled the issuance of mobile foreigner registration cards, and the subsequent approval from financial authorities to use these cards for financial transactions.
Jeonbuk Bank stands out as the only bank that supports all financial transactions, from account opening to loan applications, through non-face-to-face channels using mobile foreigner registration cards. This is expected to significantly improve financial accessibility for foreign residents in South Korea.
The launch of this service is part of Jeonbuk Bank's broader efforts to expand financial services for foreign customers, which includes the recent launch of the 'Bravo Korea' comprehensive financial platform for foreigners.
A representative from Jeonbuk Bank stated, "We hope that this expansion of mobile identification will allow our foreign customers to enjoy more convenient financial lives. We are committed to continuously providing innovative financial services that cater to the diverse needs of our customers."
