Gangwon State and the Gangwon Tourism Organization announced on September 12 that the "Gangwon SEA Wellness Festa," held around the scenic Anmok Beach in Gangneung, concluded with enthusiastic responses and high satisfaction from participants.

This special program was meticulously designed to offer tourists exhausted from their busy daily routines an opportunity to experience genuine relaxation and unique wellness activities amidst the pristine natural environment of Gangwon's eastern coast. As part of the official initiatives aligned with the "2026 Visit Gangwon-do Year," the event focused on promoting Gangwon's distinct tourism charms through a diverse lineup of wellness contents, featuring beach yoga, meditation sessions, and interactive healing programs. Rather than a conventional, superficial sightseeing trip, participants were able to synchronize their breathing with nature, allowing them to restore both their physical vitality and mental peace.

Anmok Beach, renowned for its crystal-clear ocean views, lush pine tree borders, and famous vibrant coffee culture, served as an optimal backdrop for this healing festival. The harmonious blend of the soothing sound of waves and professional wellness coaching significantly boosted participant satisfaction, proving the immense potential of coastal healing tourism.

Building on the triumphant operation of this event, the Gangwon Tourism Organization plans to continuously discover innovative contents and develop sustainable tourism packages aimed at fostering wellness tourism into a high-value, stay-type industry. By transforming brief visits into long-term regional stays, the organization aims to vitalize the local economy and establish Gangwon as a premier destination for holistic recovery.

Choi Sung-hyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Organization, stated, "Through this wellness program, participants were able to momentarily set aside their hectic daily lives and embark on a meaningful journey of healing for both body and mind." He further emphasized, "We will continue to unearth differentiated wellness tourism contents that leverage Gangwon's pristine nature and unique regional characteristics, firmly establishing Gangwon as the ultimate destination people seek when they need true healing and relaxation."
