[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES] Gwangju Bank has launched a check card exclusively for foreigners.
Gwangju Bank announced on the 29th that it will introduce the 'Together Check Card', a check card specialized for foreign residents in Korea.
The basic cashback benefit provides 0.2% of the amount used at domestic and overseas affiliated stores without any conditions. There is no limit to previous month's performance or monthly integrated cashback limit.
The additional cashback benefit was created by analyzing the card spending tendencies of foreign customers living in Korea. An additional 0.2% cashback is provided when used in daily life service areas such as coffee, shopping, gas, department stores, supermarkets, movies, transportation, and convenience stores. In addition, convenience has been improved by applying the postpaid transportation function.
It also provides various fee benefits, such as preferential financial fees and overseas remittance (draft) fees, and preferential foreign currency (cash) exchange rates.
This card can be issued to foreign residents aged 12 or older who have an alien registration card or domestic residence card.
Yoo Dong-gu, head of the card business department at Gwangju Bank, said, “With the launch of a check card exclusively for foreigners, we expect the card consumption life of foreigners living in Korea to improve,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to launch a variety of new products that meet the needs of our customers.” He said.
