Seoul, South Korea – LG Electronics announced today that it will unveil two new concept designs for its plant-growing appliance, "Tiun," at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025. The new Tiun designs incorporate interior design elements, making them stylish additions to any home.
The new concepts feature a stand lamp design and a nightstand design. Both can be used as mood lights or speakers. The stand lamp version can be used as an LED grow light during the day and a mood light at night. The LED light can be adjusted in height, allowing users to grow taller plants. The nightstand design is inspired by table lamps and can be placed beside a bed as a nightlight. It also includes a built-in Bluetooth speaker for music.
The new products are designed to be user-friendly. Users simply need to insert a seed kit, add water and nutrients, and turn on the LED light to start growing plants. Each unit can accommodate up to four seed kits, allowing users to grow a variety of plants simultaneously. The devices can be connected to the LG ThinQ app, allowing users to control the light duration and brightness, and receive notifications for water refills.
LG plans to launch the stand lamp version of the new Tiun in the second half of next year. The release date for the nightstand version is still to be determined.
Since its initial launch in 2021, Tiun has gained popularity as a stylish and convenient way to bring nature indoors. In 2022, LG introduced the Tiun Mini, a smaller version designed for desks and tables. Tiun can be used for various purposes, including "planterior" (plant + interior) to decorate homes with plants, "plant cultivation" for growing herbs and vegetables, and "horticultural therapy" for promoting emotional well-being.
