Fostering the Island Fair Boom: "Free Admission and Even Good Luck"... On the 19th, 'Boim DAY' to Shoot Out Prizes Worth 20 Million Won to Some 200 People

September 19: Free Admission to the Island Fair for Yeosu Citizens and Workers in the Yeosu Region

The 2026 Yeosu World Island Fair is taking another step forward as a "festival of coexistence" created together by local businesses and citizens.

On the 19th (Saturday), the 2026 World Island Fair Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee) will join hands with the Boim Group (Chairman Han Moon-sun of the Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry)—which was founded in Yeosu and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year—at the main fair venue to foster a boom for the successful hosting of the Fair. To this end, a coexistence event called "Boim DAY" will be held.

On this day, Yeosu citizens and workers in the Yeosu region can enter the expo venue for free, and a large-scale prize event will also be held, offering a total of 20 million won worth of prizes to about 200 visitors through a random draw open to all attendees.

Previously, the Boim Group pledged a total of about 200 million won in sponsorships, including a 100 million won donation and 100 million won worth of support for "Boim DAY" free admission, for the successful hosting of the Island Fair.  In addition, it has prepared separate prizes worth 20 million won to be given to some 200 visitors, planning to boost the festive mood and create a boom for the success of the Island Fair.

In particular, the Boim Group prepared this event to share its meaning with the local community instead of holding its own anniversary event to mark its 20th founding anniversary. As it is held ahead of the Chuseok holiday, it also embodies the purpose of delivering abundant sharing and joy to citizens and visitors visiting Yeosu.

Under the slogan "Falling in Love with Islands," "Boim DAY" will take place around the open stage of the main venue and the theme island, with approximately 30,000 people, including Yeosu citizens and regional workers, expected to participate together.

■ From Performances to Movies and Media Facades... An 'Island Fair Day' to Enjoy with Family

"Boim DAY" packs a variety of programs so that everyone from children to adults can enjoy them together as a family. Visitors to the venue can take photos with the official mascot "Daseomi" and participate in various on-site events.

In the afternoon, performances will follow. A taekwondo demonstration will be held on the open stage, while the special performance stage will greet visitors with the 'Island Friends Day' performance featuring Peru's traditional culture and music, along with the Island Performing Arts Festival.

Outdoor movie screenings for family visitors are also arranged. By providing a special experience of watching movies against the backdrop of the theme island and the sea, the plan is to make the expo venue not just an exhibition viewing space, but an autumn outing space where families can stay and enjoy together.

■ It Gets More Special After Sunset... From Media Facades to Jin Hae-seong and Yang Ji-eun Concerts

As the sun goes down, the atmosphere of "Boim DAY" heats up even more. At 5:00 PM, the main event will take place, followed by guerrilla performances by the Island Expo PR ambassador, street dance team Ilbro and trot singer Han Su-jung, and a performance & EDM party.

In particular, starting at 7:00 PM, a "Touching Message Event" utilizing the theme island media facade will be held. Gratitude, support, and celebratory messages submitted in advance by visitors will be broadcast through the large media facade, filling Yeosu's autumn night with special memories.

The end of the day will be graced by a weekly concert. Jin Hae-seong, who ranked 3rd in TV Chosun's "Mr. Trot 2" and 2nd in MBN's "King of Active Singers," and Yang Ji-eun, the winner of TV Chosun's "Mistrot 2," will take the stage to heat up the autumn night in Yeosu.

■ A Local Growth Enterprise Supporting the Fair Together with Citizens

The significance of "Boim DAY" lies in the fact that the sponsorship of a local enterprise leads to a festival for the citizens.

Growing up in Yeosu, the Boim Group promotes power generation fuel supply, port logistics, and district energy businesses, as well as future eco-friendly energy businesses. In particular, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Boim Group decided to commemorate its 20th anniversary by sharing its meaning with the local community instead of holding its own commemorative event, and to contribute to the successful hosting of the international event held locally.

Boim Group Chairman Han Moon-sun said, "As a local enterprise in Yeosu, I am glad to contribute to the successful hosting of the Island Expo and to enjoy the Island Fair together with citizens through 'Boim DAY.' I hope many citizens will visit without burden and fully enjoy the various attractions and performances of the Island Expo."

Secretary-General Kim Jong-ki of the Organizing Committee said, "I deeply thank the local enterprise Boim Group for preparing a meaningful event where citizens can enjoy the Island Fair together and cheer for its successful hosting. I hope more citizens will visit the expo venue through 'Boim DAY' to enjoy exhibitions, experiences, and performances."

Meanwhile, the 2026 Yeosu World Island Fair will be held until November 4 under the theme "The Island, Connecting the Sea and the Future," centering around the Dolsan Jinmo District main venue in Yeosu, as well as the Yeosu World Expo venue, Gaedo, and Geumodo.
