Park Jong-beom, Chairman of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World-OKTA), has been appointed as the honorary chairman of the 23rd World Korean Business Convention, which will be held in Atlanta, USA, in April.

The Korean American Chamber of Commerce (KACC, Chairman Lee Kyung-cheol) announced on March 7 that Chairman Park was appointed as honorary chairman through the recommendation of Chairman Lee. Chairman Lee explained that "it was a decision considering the status of World-OKTA, the world's largest Korean economic organization." The official appointment will be made by the convention's organizing committee (Chairman Lee Sang-deok, head of the Overseas Koreans Agency).

The World Korean Business Convention changed its name from the World Korean Business Convention in October 2023 and held its first overseas convention in Anaheim, Orange County, California, USA. The 22nd convention was held in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do last October, and the 23rd convention this year will be held from April 17 to 20 at the Gas South Convention Center in Atlanta, USA, jointly with the Korean American Chamber of Commerce.

Since taking office as Chairman of World-OKTA in November 2023, Chairman Park Jong-beom has successfully held a large-scale Korean product exhibition by expanding and reorganizing the World Korean Business Convention into 'KOREA BUSINESS EXPO VIENNA'. World-OKTA will hold the 26th World Representatives Convention and Export Consultation in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do from April 28 to May 1.

Meanwhile, the World Korean Business Convention Organizing Committee plans to decide the venue for the 24th convention, which will be held in October next year, on April 17, the opening day of the 23rd Atlanta convention. Currently, Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok) and Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Hyeong-jun) have applied to host the event, and the two cities are competing to attract it.
