A variety of events to promote seafood consumption held from the 9th to the 11th at Chunjangdae Beach, Seocheon

Chungnam Province has launched a three-day "Chungnam Seafood Grand Festival" designed to promote the region's top-quality seafood nationwide and boost consumption.

Hosted by the province and organized by the Chungnam Federation of Marine and Fishery Professionals, the festival is being held from the 9th to the 11th at Chunjangdae Beach in Seocheon under the slogan "Exquisite Seafood, Joyful Memories, and Chungnam You'll Want to Visit Again."

Rather than being a one-off food festival, this event was prepared to deliver "hope" for recovery to fishermen struggling with high inflation and sluggish consumption, while offering visitors the "fresh taste" and "safety" of the clean West Sea.

At the opening ceremony on this day, Governor Park Soo-hyun, Seocheon County Mayor Yu Seung-kwang, Park Joo-wan, president of the Chungnam Federation of Marine and Fishery Professionals, and other officials turned a large ship's wheel on center stage to signal the festival's grand opening.

Following this, opening celebratory performances featuring artists such as Sung-ri and Kim Da-na, along with a spectacular fireworks display, lit up the night sky over Chunjangdae and captivated the audience.

On the 10th, the "WAVE Hope Song Concert" is scheduled to take place featuring Jang Han-byeol, Kim Kyung-min, and Marie, while singers Ji-won and Ahn Sung-jun will soothe the bittersweet feelings of the closing day on the 11th.

In addition to the performances, visitors during the festival period can enjoy free hands-on activities such as catching fish (6 types, including eels, shrimp, and flounders), ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) craft experiences (8 types), and a children's playground equipped with a Viking ride and a carousel.

Along with daily visitor participation events like fish-catching, surprise auctions, and singing contests, the festival also features linked programs such as a future strategy expert forum and a marine resource releasing event.

Governor Park Soo-hyun said, "I would like to thank the fishermen who have protected Seocheon's clean sea and worked hard for this grand festival," adding, "I hope this festival serves as a solid source of hope for fishery workers and leaves visitors from across the country with wonderful tastes and memories."
