Supporting ecological tourism experiences for local people with disabilities and special education targets to expand tourism enjoyment opportunities

The Busan Tourism Organization (President Lee Jeong-sil, hereinafter referred to as the Organization) announced on the 16th that it carried out social contribution activities in October using the Nakdonggang Ecological Tour Boat to provide ecological tourism experience opportunities for local people with disabilities and special education students.

This social contribution activity was prepared to expand tourism enjoyment opportunities for vulnerable tourism groups and foster coexistence with the local community, sequentially proceeding with schedules that had been postponed due to bad weather once safe operational conditions were met.

The Organization supported Nakdonggang Ecological Tour Boat experiences for the Gongchang General Social Welfare Center and the Buk-gu Welfare Center for the Disabled on the 7th, and students of Myeongji Hansol School on the 8th, providing them with opportunities to directly experience the natural environment of the Nakdonggang River.

Subsequently, on the 16th, the Organization operated the Nakdonggang Ecological Tour Boat experience program for users of the Gangseo Developmental Disability Activity Center, wrapping up a total of three rounds of social contribution activities throughout October.

Participants boarded the Nakdonggang Ecological Tour Boat to appreciate the natural scenery of the Nakdonggang River estuary and spent meaningful time experiencing the local ecological environment.

In particular, this activity gained added significance as it provided experience opportunities—based on cooperation with local welfare and educational institutions—to vulnerable tourism groups who rarely have access to water tourism.

Busan Tourism Organization President Lee Jeong-sil stated, "Tourism should be enjoyed by anyone without discrimination," adding, "Moving forward, we will utilize tourism resources operated by the Organization, such as the Nakdonggang Ecological Tour Boat, to expand experience opportunities for vulnerable tourism groups and continuously pursue social contribution activities together with the local community."

Meanwhile, the Nakdonggang Ecological Tour Boat operates based at Eulsukdo Pier from April to October every year, and at Hwamyeong Pier from November to March of the following year. Boarding operates on a pre-reservation system through the official Nakdonggang Ecological Tour Boat website, and telephone reservations are not available.
