International students attending three different universities; they've been in Korea for a few months, but between studying and part-time jobs, they haven't really had a chance to properly see Haeundae. So, at 10 PM, I took these students out for a walk around Haeundae and Dongbaek Island. The night view was breathtakingly beautiful. We walked and had deep conversations for over two hours. I also learned a few new facts.
I learned for the very first time on this day that Bangladesh has the longest natural sea beach in the world. Tourists from all over the globe visit it, and the students said they want to invite me there around next year. They are students from the capital, Dhaka, and Chittagong, which is the Busan of Bangladesh. The 120-kilometer-long 'Cox's Bazar' beach is said to have gotten its name from Captain Hiram Cox, a British army officer who worked for the British East India Company in the late 18th century.
I am constantly amazed. Bangladeshi students are truly brilliant. They want to play a significant role in developing Bangladesh in the future. It is regrettable that their country also suffers from severe corruption among politicians. The Bangladeshi government should provide a foundation for these clever young people to grow, but instead, they only pursue their own wealth and luxury. People from Bangladesh are famous for being exceptionally good at international trade and business. After they graduate, I want to help them start small-scale trading businesses involving Korean products.
