Beijing Hyundai will officially launch its China-market electric sedan, the 'Ioniq V', on the 29th. Pre-sale prices range from 119,900 yuan (approx. 24.33 million won) to 139,900 yuan (approx. 28.40 million won), and the driving range on a single charge is up to 650km based on China's CLTC standard and up to 527km based on Europe's WLTP standard.

The Ioniq V is the first mass-produced model for Hyundai's China-exclusive Ioniq brand. Vehicle development was led by Hyundai Motor's China Design Center, and it was planned as a strategic model reflecting the tastes of Chinese consumers.

The vehicle body dimensions are 4,900mm in length, 1,890mm in width, 1,470mm in height, and a 2,900mm wheelbase. It adopts a fastback shape where the roofline gently slopes toward the rear, and uses frameless doors and black window trim.

The front features a closed design without a conventional radiator grille. Daytime running lights are arranged horizontally, and the main headlamps use a separated structure placed inside the bumper.

Exterior colors include 8 options: Cyber Gold, Dimension Purple, Gamma Green, Magnetic Grey, Photon White (Glossy and Matte), Flowing Silver, and Night Blade Black.

The interior applies a 'Nebula Wrap-around' design. A 27-inch ultra-slim 4K display is placed in the center, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip is used.

The infotainment system integrates Chinese large language models (LLMs) such as Baidu's Ernie Bot and ByteDance's Doubao. Driving information is provided through the 'Cyber Eye' head-up display.

The driving assistance system applies solutions from Chinese autonomous driving technology company Momenta. The provided materials explain that it supports navigation-based driving assistance functions on highways.

The powertrain consists of two single-motor options. Maximum outputs are 140kW (188 horsepower) and 168kW (225 horsepower), respectively.

The batteries are CATL's lithium iron phosphate (LFP) products, available in two capacities: 53.5kWh and 66.8kWh. Depending on the trim, the driving range is 520km, 540km, 620km, and 650km based on the CLTC standard, and when converted to the WLTP standard, it is 421km, 437km, 502km, and 527km, respectively.

Through the Ioniq V, Beijing Hyundai is increasing the proportion of local development and local technology application in the Chinese market. The approach involves utilizing CATL for batteries, Momenta for driving assistance systems, and Chinese AI services for infotainment.

The design and concept of the Ioniq V are being reviewed for potential use in future global markets, but overseas export regions or release schedules following the China market launch remain undecided.
