HÀ NỘI — Nhâm Mạnh Dũng, often coming off the bench, has become a key figure for Thể Công Viettel, injecting dynamism into their attack. Dubbed a 'silent hero,' his two crucial goals in the V.League 1 2024-2025 season speak volumes.
On January 19th at Thiên Trường Stadium, Dũng entered the game in the second half and wasted no time, scoring the winning goal against defending champions Nam Định Club just seven minutes after his arrival. He repeated his heroics on February 14th against Đà Nẵng. With his team trailing, Dũng came on in the 73rd minute and quickly leveled the score with a stunning goal, securing a valuable 1-1 draw.
Despite competition from foreign strikers, Dũng has featured in seven matches this season, playing a vital role in Thể Công's top-three league position with 22 points.
A Rising Star in Vietnamese Football
Dũng's talent has marked him as one of Vietnam's most promising young players. He debuted for the national team at just 18, fueled by a lifelong passion for the sport. At the 2017 National U17 Championship, Dũng's eight goals led U17 Thể Công Viettel to a second-place finish, earning him the top scorer award. This performance paved the way for his professional debut with the first team in 2019 at the age of 19.
