Shin Jin-seo 9 Dan Wins Nanyang Cup with 'Divine Skill'

Shin Jin-seo 9 dan has won the inaugural Nanyang Cup World Go Masters, defeating China's Wang Xinghao 9 dan in the second game of the best-of-three final held in Singapore on the 28th. This victory brings Shin Jin-seo's total major world title count to eight, placing him joint fourth with Gu Li and Ke Jie 9 dan.

Match Highlights:

Shin Jin-seo faced a challenging situation after conceding central white territory while securing his black territory on the right side.
He attempted a bold move to cut off the central white group but was met with Wang Xinghao's skillful response.
Shin Jin-seo turned the tide by successfully maneuvering on the left and lower sides, securing vital points on the right and upper sides, ultimately achieving a dramatic comeback.

Shin Jin-seo's Comments:

"When the large groups were all saved, I thought I had turned the game around, and I knew I had won while tidying up the endgame."
"Wang Xinghao was a very tough opponent, but I think I was able to win because I had more experience."
"I'm happy to start the year well with victories in the Nanyang Cup and the Nongshim Cup. I won't be satisfied with this and will do my best throughout the year."

Additional Information:

In the final game of the Nanyang Cup Huihuang Go Masters, Cho Hun-hyun 9 dan defeated Japan's Masaki Takemiya 9 dan by time out to win the championship.
Shin jin-seo 9 dan is continuing his winning streak this year.
The prize money is 250,000 singaporean dollars (approximately 260,000,000 korean won).
