Jeju City, South Korea – The Jeju Arts Council is set to host its annual arts education showcase, offering a comprehensive look at the diverse cultural and artistic achievements of the past year. The event, titled "2024 Jeju Arts Education Sharing Week: Art Rich Week," will take place from December 2nd to 8th at the Jeju Art Platform in Jeju City.
Under the theme "Art Connects Us," the event will feature a variety of exhibitions, performances, and hands-on workshops for the public. The week-long program aims to share the fruits of the council's various arts education and creative support programs with the Jeju community.
Inclusive Arts Festival A highlight of the event will be the "Disability Arts Festival - TURN," a barrier-free festival designed to foster communication and empathy among people of all abilities. The festival will feature art installations and performances created by artists with disabilities.
Diverse Exhibitions and Performances Throughout the week, visitors can expect a range of exhibitions showcasing the results of the council's key programs, including arts education initiatives, creative support for artists with disabilities and young artists, and the "Culture Delivery" program, which aims to promote arts and culture in local communities.
On December 3rd, the council will host a special event titled "Love Letter 2024" to reflect on the achievements of various support programs throughout the year. The event will feature a diverse lineup of performances, including a contemporary dance piece by Minsu Kyung based on Jeju folk songs, as well as musical performances by Yuyu and Sulbin, the winners of the 2024 Korean Popular Music Awards for Best Folk Music.
Community Engagement To encourage community participation, the event will offer a range of interactive activities, including a Christmas craft workshop, information booths about various council programs, and a photo booth.
