U.S. Suspends Military Aid and Intelligence Sharing with Ukraine Amidst Mineral Deal Dispute

The United States has completely halted military aid to Ukraine and temporarily suspended intelligence sharing regarding Russian activities due to a conflict over a 'mineral deal' with Ukraine.

U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Ratcliffe revealed that President Donald Trump decided to suspend intelligence support, questioning Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's commitment to the peace process. Ratcliffe added that the suspension is temporary and that the U.S. will resume cooperation with Ukraine in the future.

The British Financial Times (FT), citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, reported that the Trump administration has stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine. FT analyzed that this measure could severely undermine Ukraine's ability to respond to Russia.

Previously, the Trump administration decided to freeze military aid to Ukraine after the summit on the 28th of last month. This is interpreted as a move to pressure Ukraine to accept the mineral deal and actively participate in ceasefire negotiations with Russia.

President Trump stated in his congressional address that he had received a letter from President Zelensky expressing his intention to sign the mineral deal. However, the Ukrainian government immediately denied related reports and claimed that intelligence sharing with the U.S. is ongoing.
