The Chungbuk Culture and Arts Foundation has officially announced the "2026 Chungbuk Gallery Cheongju OSCO Special Exhibition Youth Artist Project Open Call", aiming to expand exhibition opportunities for emerging creators and diversify cultural content. This initiative invites visionary youth artists to step beyond traditional exhibition frameworks and present innovative, cross-genre ideas to the public.

Comprehensive Support and Recruitment Details

Scheduled to run from December 2 to December 27, 2026, at the Chungbuk Gallery Cheongju OSCO branch, the upcoming exhibition welcomes around 20 individual artists or teams. To ensure these creative visions are brought to life seamlessly, the foundation will provide robust support, covering exhibition and performance spaces, technical equipment, and promotional marketing.

Furthermore, selected participants will undergo a structured development phase following the initial document screening. This includes capacity-building workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions designed to refine the overarching exhibition layout and maximize the impact of each individual project.

Eligibility and Application Timeline

The open call is open to both domestic and international youth artists and groups who are 40 years of age or younger as of 2026 (born on or after January 1, 1986). Applicants can submit projects across a wide spectrum of genres with zero limitations, encompassing visual arts, live performances, media art, installations, and creative merchandise goods. Additionally, creators currently participating in the Chungbuk Youth Arts Support Program or the K-Art Youth Creator Support Program are also eligible to apply.

The application period is open from September 16 through September 30, 2026. Interested applicants can download the required application forms and project proposal templates from the official website of the Chungbuk Culture and Arts Foundation, complete the documentation, and submit it via email to osco@cbfc.or.kr. The final selection results will be officially announced in mid-October.

Fostering Direct Engagement with Audiences

Kim Kyung-sik, CEO of the Chungbuk Culture and Arts Foundation, shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "We hope this initiative serves as a valuable platform where young artists can freely unleash their imaginative ideas and connect directly with audiences." He added, "We look forward to receiving passionate interest and active participation from emerging creators eager to showcase their unique artistic identities to the world."
