[Global Economic Times] The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 21st that it will hold the '2024 World Bio Summit' (WORLD BIO SUMMIT 2024) with the World Health Organization (WHO) on the 11th and 12th of next month at Convensia in Songdo, Incheon.

This event, now in its third year, is an international event where world leaders in the bio industry, including health ministers and vice ministers, heads of international organizations, representatives of vaccine and bio companies, and experts, gather to discuss the global agenda in the vaccine and bio fields. This year, it will be held under the theme of ‘Future investment for a safe and healthy next 10 years.’

Attendees will share recent trends and discuss global cooperation measures in three sessions, including innovative research and development, building a stable global supply chain, and strengthening bio capabilities. A special session will also be held to discuss ways to improve vaccine accessibility and strengthen vaccination by life cycle.

During the event, expert seminars and business meetings and side events will be held with international organizations and groups such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Organization for the Purchasing of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UNITAID), the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), the Wright Foundation, and Health AI.

A 'Global Business Lounge' will also be operated to support expanded cooperation between international organizations, global companies, overseas health departments, and domestic bio companies.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare has opened an official website (https://worldbiosummit.kr) and is accepting applications for participation in the event. Participants can check event information and register to participate on the website. The event will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel (https://worldbiosummit.kr).
