The global phenomenon K-Pop: Demon Hunters, Netflix’s record-breaking animated feature film, is expanding its enchanting universe beyond the screen through official print publishing adaptations, including a full-color graphic novel and a tailored children’s chapter book.
According to American music and entertainment publication Billboard on July 30 (local time), global streaming platform Netflix partnered with renowned publishing house Random House to officially release the print media adaptations. The newly unveiled 208-page graphic novel presents the movie in a full-color graphic format, meticulously capturing the film's key narrative scenes and preserving virtually all original character dialogue. However, live stage performance sequences and musical lyrics have been omitted from this print edition.
In tandem with the graphic novel release, Random House has also published a specialized children’s novel targeted at young readers aged 7 to 10. Set within the same energetic universe, the book focuses on the dynamic rivalry and competitive clash between the story's protagonist girl group, HunteRx, and their rival boy band, the Saja Boys.
The children's book was penned by Jessica Yoon, an established author recognized for seamlessly integrating Korean cultural themes into children's literature, with previous acclaimed titles such as Jeong is Jeong and Legend of Vandal.
K-Pop: Demon Hunters follows the thrilling story of a world-famous K-pop girl group who secretly lead double lives as supernatural guardians protecting humanity from evil spirits. Since its initial debut in June last year, the animated movie has captivated global audiences, surging to become Netflix’s number-one most-viewed title of all time and maintaining an extraordinary long-term streaming run.
