[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES]  On the 2nd, the United Nations Foundation for Peace and Prosperity on the Korean Peninsula (UN PEACKOR/Secretary-General Heo Jun-hyuk) appointed Dr. Lim Hye-sook as director of the United Nations Pisco Orchestra and began its activities on a large scale. Dr. Lim, a visiting researcher at Seoul National University's Learning Sciences Research Institute, has been developing and performing music for the underprivileged and, through this appointment, plans to contribute to world peace through music.

The UN PEACKOR Orchestra is made up of musicians of various nationalities and backgrounds, and plans to participate in active activities such as promoting humanity and understanding through music and supporting musicians in war or conflict zones. In particular, they are expected to participate in events organized by international organizations, including the UN, and contribute to resolving conflicts and promoting understanding through musical performances.

Director Lim Hye-sook expressed her ambition and said, “Starting in Korea, we will work with musicians around the world to promote humanity and understanding through music, and we will support musicians in areas of war or conflict to transmit your voices to the world.”

UN PEACKOR Secretary-General Heo Jun-hyuk said: "We plan to promote international cooperation for peace and prosperity through music and use it as a platform to share world culture and art with a diverse repertoire ranging from traditional classical music to contemporary music". Great expectations are revealed about the orchestra's activities.

Meanwhile, UN PEACKOR has alliances with various UN agencies such as UNICEF and the UN World Food Programme, and is carrying out support projects for students to enter the UN. Recently, we are expanding our scope of activity with the launch of 'UN PEACKOR TIMES', which contains the news and voices of Koreans around the world.
