The Korea Tourism Organization (President Park Sung-hyuk, hereafter KTO) is holding a public participation event titled "Let's Take Off on an Autumn Trip with Chunsik!" in collaboration with Kakao until November 22. This event is designed to encourage domestic travel and vitalize regional tourism in connection with the "Travel Month" campaign.
The "Travel Month" campaign is an initiative by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the KTO to encourage domestic travel and stimulate the regional economy by offering various benefits, such as discounts on transportation, accommodation, and travel products. This year, over 230 public and private organizations and companies are participating from October for two months to provide diverse travel benefits.
The event participation method is as follows: Visitors can choose one of the 33 autumn recommended travel destinations selected by the KTO, locate the standing sign of Kakao Friends' character "Chunsik" installed at the site, and scan the QR code. Next, visitors authenticate their visit using a KakaoTalk Talk Digital Card*, and share the event with friends via KakaoTalk at least three times to complete their entry.
Talk Digital Card: A KakaoTalk wallet-based digital authentication service.
Target destinations for the event include 33 locations where visitors can fully enjoy the autumn ambiance, such as ▲ Gangcheonsan County Park (Sunchang, Jeollabuk-do), ▲ Gosu Cave (Danyang, Chungcheongbuk-do), ▲ Daegwaryeong Hanul Ranch (Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do), ▲ Sosu Seowon (Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do), and ▲ Jeju Starlight World Park (Jeju).
Prizes will be awarded to around 100 winners through a lucky draw. A variety of gifts are prepared, including the LG StanbyME 2 Max, Fullio massager, and KakaoTalk Gift certificates. Winners will be announced on November 30. Detailed information regarding the participation method and destinations can be found on the official "Travel Month" website.
Kim Seok-il, head of the Domestic Tourism Promotion Team at the KTO, stated, "We prepared this event so that anyone can easily participate using KakaoTalk, visit the travel destinations in person, and share the autumn atmosphere with family and friends." He added, "As we have prepared various discount benefits for transportation, accommodation, and travel products alongside this event, we hope people will discover new charms while traveling across various parts of Korea this autumn and bring vitality to the regions."
