A two-day festival combining film and hands-on experiences... Expanding opportunities for citizens to enjoy Dokdo culture together.

The Samcheok Tourism & Culture Foundation (Chairman Park Sang-soo) will hold the "2026 Isabu and We Came to Dokdo" event at the Isabu Dokdo Memorial Hall from October 24 (Sat) to October 25 (Sun) in commemoration of Dokdo Day.

This event is designed to share the historical significance of General Isabu and Dokdo with citizens and to spread interest in Dokdo through culture and hands-on experiences. By operating programs that can be enjoyed by all generations—such as film screenings and craft making—visitors to the Isabu Dokdo Memorial Hall are provided with an opportunity to experience Dokdo more closely.

On October 24, starting at 5:30 PM, the "Isabu Night Cinema" themed around "Isabu Starlight Camping" will be held at the outdoor plaza of Building A of the Isabu Dokdo Memorial Hall. A camping-style venue setup and a themed photo zone will add to the autumn night sentiment, and the animated film "Ploey" will be screened. Visitors can create special memories with family and friends through movies and photos, accompanied by an autumn mini-lantern making experience. Participation is limited to visitors selected through prior registration.

From October 24 to October 25, the "Decorating My Own Dokdo Eco-Bag" experience will be held in Building D. It is available to paid visitors of the memorial hall who wish to participate, with a total of 300 eco-bags provided on a limited basis.

On October 25, Dokdo Day, the "Mugrose Flower Dokdo Cake Making" experience will be held in Building D. A total of 174 teams comprising 536 people applied for advance registration, drawing high interest with 78 teams applying right at the opening hour of 9:00 AM. Participants will spend time reflecting on the preciousness of Dokdo by directly making Mugunghwa flower-decorated Dokdo cakes.

Yoo Jae-hyun, Secretary-General of the Samcheok Tourism & Culture Foundation, said, "I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to approach the stories of Isabu and Dokdo more familiarly and share the precious value of Dokdo together," adding, "We will continue to expand contents that citizens and tourists can participate in by linking the memorial hall's exhibitions and cultural programs."

Detailed information regarding the event can be found on the official website of the Samcheok Tourism & Culture Foundation.
