Qatar, globally renowned for its immense national wealth driven by natural resources like natural gas, is familiar to many as the home of Doha and the international broadcaster Al Jazeera. At prestigious university graduation ceremonies here, the King is known to gift luxury timepieces, such as gold Rolex watches, to graduates. Perhaps due to their exceptionally high income levels, Qatari travelers often carry a lofty demeanor. Even when visiting Korea, they tend to act somewhat aloof and prickly. Yet, despite their wealth, they hardly strike my eyes as anything truly extraordinary.
