SAMCHOK — The Samcheok Miro Garden successfully hosted the inaugural "2026 Miro Bean Farm Party" on Sunday, October 25. The event brought together approximately 20 participants, including families enrolled in the "Miro Farming and Rural Return English Class"—which has been running since early September—along with native English-speaking instructors.

Designed to mark its first-ever edition this year, the festival aimed to foster community bonding between returning farmers and local residents while providing a practical environment for participants to naturally apply what they have learned in the English classes.

The itinerary featured a rich array of engaging programs. Highlights included a children’s tofu-making experience, a tofu and mushroom sweet-and-sour dish cooking performance by parents, a bean-transfer game conducted entirely in English, and a lively dance workshop led by a foreign professional dancer.

Organizers hope that cooking local food together and interacting directly with foreign instructors will help children develop a deeper familiarity with regional agricultural products while building confidence in using English in everyday settings.

"We wanted to create an opportunity where people can enjoy both hands-on experiences utilizing local specialties and English education simultaneously," said Kim Tae-geon, CEO of Samcheok Miro Garden. "We will continue our efforts to ensure that Samcheok Miro Garden serves as a bridge connecting returning farmers with local residents, while fully supporting community education and experiential tourism."
