About 30 members of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Master Craftsmen Association visited Jeungchon 2-ri, Hamchang-eup, Sangju City, on October 31 to provide talent-based volunteer services and resolve daily inconveniences for rural residents.

Comprising elite skilled professionals designated and supported by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, the association members utilized their expertise to assist local seniors. The volunteer efforts covered a wide range of practical needs, including haircuts and styling, repairing window screens, fixing household items, mending kitchen sinks and doors, and cleaning up the village environment.

Staff members from both the provincial government and the Hamchang-eup Administrative Welfare Center joined forces with the craftsmen, working alongside local residents to lend a helping hand.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Master Craftsmen Association consists of approximately 50 veteran technicians, including holders of the title "Republic of Korea Master Craftsman," certified skilled technicians, and industrial field professors. Alongside their annual regional volunteer campaigns, the association is actively dedicated to passing down master-level skills and fostering the next generation of technicians.

Kim Joo-hyun, head of Jeungchon 2-ri, expressed deep gratitude, saying, "The repairs to the village hall’s sink and doors, which had long been a source of inconvenience, are a tremendous help. We sincerely thank the Gyeongsangbuk-do master craftsmen for providing such meticulous care using their professional skills." He added, "The warm assistance from the provincial and municipal administrative staff also deeply touched our residents."

Choi Hyun-sook, Director of the Enterprise Support Division at Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, remarked, "We are truly grateful to the members of the Master Craftsmen Association for giving up their day off to participate in this sharing of skills. Moving forward, we will actively support continued warmth in local communities—reaching out to remote villages and vulnerable areas where assistance is most needed so residents can truly feel the impact in their daily lives."
