SEJONG — Banok-dong, Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Administrator Lee Gi-hang), announced that it successfully hosted the “2026 Banok and Jiphyeon-dong Harmony Sports Festival” and the “Ban-Ban Dokkaebi Night Market” on October 31 around the Banok-dong Community Center and Jaekketeul Neighborhood Park.
Designed to foster community spirit, the joint sports festival brought together residents from both Banok-dong and Jiphyeon-dong for a day of shared bonding.
The event kicked off with an energetic rope-skipping performance to music, followed by cheerful "cheerful/recreational" games (myeongrang-gyeonggi) that encouraged active community participation. Various interactive booths—featuring football, baseball, and caricature drawing—were also operated alongside the main venue.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, a non-verbal cotton candy puppet show and a fusion Gugak (traditional Korean music) cultural performance delighted the attendees in succession.
Beginning at 5:00 PM, the celebration transitioned to Jaekketeul Neighborhood Park for the "Ban-Ban Dokkaebi Night Market." The evening program offered a rich array of sights and entertainment, including a community singing contest, a flea market, and a direct marketplace for eco-friendly agricultural products.
"We hope this sports festival served as a joyful arena of harmony where Banok and Jiphyeon-dong residents could connect and communicate with one another," said Administrator Lee Gi-hang. "Moving forward, we will continue to create opportunities for neighbors to smile, enjoy, and build precious memories together."
