Daejeon City held the "30th Daejeon Metropolitan City Childcare Providers' Convention" on the 21st at the City Hall Grand Auditorium, with over 600 childcare staff in attendance.
Hosted by Daejeon City and organized by the Daejeon Daycare Center Association (President Park Young-ran), the event was prepared to encourage and foster harmony among childcare staff who have dedicated themselves on the front lines of the childcare field, marking a meaningful milestone for its 30th anniversary.
The event began with a pre-ceremony performance, followed by the entrance of the flag bearers, congratulatory remarks, a recitation of the Declaration of Children's Rights, and the presentation of commendations for those who contributed to the development of childcare services. Participants spent a meaningful time stepping away from their daily routines in the childcare field to communicate and build harmony with colleagues.
In particular, a total of 61 individuals—including daycare center directors and childcare teachers who took the lead in childcare development—were awarded commendations, including the Mayor's Award, the City Council Chairperson's Award, the Superintendent of Education's Award, the Chairperson of the Korea Daycare Association Award, and the Chairperson of the Daejeon Daycare Center Association Award.
Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung stated, "I deeply thank all the childcare staff who meticulously care for children every day and protect the childcare field," adding, "We will continue to listen to the voices on the ground and expand practical support so that childcare staff can care for children in a stable environment."
Meanwhile, as of the end of September, Daejeon Metropolitan City has a total of 792 daycare centers, with 9,063 childcare staff caring for 22,040 infants and young children.
