Plans to develop policy implementation proposals over 2 months across economic science, culture & tourism, and youth sectors

Daejeon City held a launch ceremony on the 30th for the "2026 Daejeon Siso Supporters, Modu-Eum Mate," who will transform citizen ideas selected from the "2026 Daejeon Siso Theme Discovery Contest (Idea ON)" into actual policies.

The launch ceremony featured the presentation of commissioning certificates for the supporters, a briefing on supporter activities, and the establishment of team-based action plans built upon facilitation methods.

Notably, the event was attended directly by the citizen proposers whose ideas were selected as outstanding entries in the "2026 Daejeon Siso Theme Discovery Contest (Idea ON)" held last July. This provided an opportunity for the supporters to deeply understand the original intent and meaning of the proposals, helping them design highly viable policy measures.

The selected proposals are:

Humanities and science programs linked with retired scientists in Daejeon (Economic Science)
Experience programs linked with science characters (Culture & Tourism)
Creation and utilization of a map of idle spaces for Daejeon youth (Youth)
During the subsequent team workshops, professional facilitators joined to help supporters establish detailed two-month action plans and drive precise planning work to develop the proposals into practical policies.

The newly launched "Modu-Eum Mate" plans to carry out multifaceted activities—such as task research, expert interviews, and pilot program operations—from October through November, ultimately deriving practical policy implementation proposals.

Kim Ki-hwan, Director of the Administration and Autonomy Bureau of Daejeon City, stated, "Today's commissioning ceremony is the first step toward turning precious citizen ideas into actual policies through the hands of our supporters. We will spare no administrative support so that the supporters can create pleasant changes in Daejeon over the next two months."
