Hyundai Department Store has announced a strategic partnership with Singapore's iconic landmark, Marina Bay Sands, to offer reciprocal VIP customer benefits. This collaboration extends Hyundai Department Store's premium service offerings for its VIP clientele to Singapore, following similar agreements in Thailand and Japan.
Hyundai Department Store officially stated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Marina Bay Sands Singapore to establish this exclusive VIP service exchange program.
Opened in 2010, Marina Bay Sands is a premier integrated resort in Singapore, attracting over 45 million visitors annually. Its distinctive architectural design, featuring three 57-story towers connected by the expansive Sands SkyPark resembling a boat, has made it a global icon.
Through this partnership, Hyundai Department Store's VIP customers will receive top-tier services and privileges when visiting Marina Bay Sands. Upon presenting their Hyundai Department Store mobile application displaying their VIP tier along with their passport at designated concierge desks located in the hotel lobby and The Shoppes at B1 and B2, they will be immediately assisted and escorted by dedicated staff.
Key benefits for Hyundai VIP customers at Marina Bay Sands include access to a personal shopping service at The Shoppes, and the accrual of up to 20% of their purchases as Sands LifeStyle points, which can be used like cash within the resort. Hotel guests will also enjoy a 15% discount on room rates, along with complimentary access to the Sands SkyPark Observation Deck, the iconic Sampan Ride along the indoor canal, and museum admissions.
In return, Marina Bay Sands VIP customers will be granted access to exclusive amenities at Hyundai Department Store's Trade Center branch and The Hyundai Seoul. These include access to VIP lounges and ALT.1, a cultural complex within The Hyundai Seoul. Additional benefits encompass an immediate shopping discount of 5-7%, priority entry to luxury brand boutiques, and accrual of H.Point, Hyundai Department Store Group's integrated membership points.
Prior to this agreement, Hyundai Department Store established similar VIP service partnerships with Siam Piwat Group in Thailand in May of last year and Hankyu Department Stores in Japan in September. Hyundai's VIP customers can currently enjoy VIP treatment at Siam Piwat's four prominent locations – Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, and ICONSIAM – as well as at Hankyu Department Store's Umeda Main Store and Hankyu Men's Tokyo.
Hyundai Department Store's proactive engagement in forging VIP service collaborations with international retailers reflects a strategic move to enhance customer loyalty by providing differentiated shopping experiences. Despite a prolonged economic slowdown, high-end consumption, particularly among VIP customers, has demonstrated consistent resilience.
This initiative aligns with Hyundai Department Store's broader strategy of distinguishing itself not only through shopping benefits but also by offering comprehensive lifestyle experiences and services. The appeal of receiving VIP treatment internationally as a Hyundai VIP customer has resonated well, with approximately 30 customers per month consistently utilizing the VIP services at Siam Piwat Group and Hankyu Department Stores to date.
This partnership with Marina Bay Sands further solidifies Hyundai Department Store's commitment to providing its most valued customers with unparalleled privileges and reinforces its position as a leader in the luxury retail sector.
