SEOUL — A monumental shift is underway in the South Korean over-the-top (OTT) streaming market. Local powerhouse TVING has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Disney+ to introduce the nation's first three-way streaming bundle. This landmark collaboration, which also includes Wavve, will allow subscribers to access content from all three platforms—TVING, Disney+, and Wavve—with a single subscription package.

The newly unveiled product, named '3 PACK,' is a direct result of a strategic partnership between TVING and Disney Korea, signifying a major integration between a global OTT leader and prominent local platforms. This move is poised to redefine content consumption by offering a vast and diverse library at an unprecedented price point.

Two Value-Packed Options

The combined subscription is anchored by the 'Standard' tier offerings from each platform and comes in two primary options:

'3 PACK': Includes TVING, Disney+, and Wavve for KRW 21,500 per month.
'Double (Disney+)': Includes TVING and Disney+ for KRW 18,000 per month.
The introduction of these bundles offers significant cost savings, with users potentially saving up to 37% compared to subscribing to the Standard tiers of each platform separately.

A Fusion of Global and Local Content

This bundling strategy dramatically expands the content universe available to Korean consumers. TVING's strong library of K-dramas, variety shows, news, and exclusive sports content, including the KBO League, now merges with the expansive global catalogue of Disney+.

Subscribers gain access to globally beloved franchises from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Hulu (via Disney+). This powerful combination of local hits and premium global blockbusters is expected to enhance user satisfaction and market competitiveness.

Strategic Global Footprint

The launch of the '3 PACK' is the latest step in TVING's broader global expansion strategy. Following the successful launch of the 'TVING Collection' on Disney+ in Japan on November 5th, which aims to accelerate the global spread of K-Content, this collaboration further signals a commitment from both parties to close cooperation and user base expansion.

Choi Joo-hee, CEO of TVING, expressed enthusiasm about the launch. "We are delighted to offer a rational service to domestic users by combining the powerful K-Content of TVING and Wavve with the premium content of Disney+," Choi stated. "TVING will continue its bold and innovative challenges to deliver greater joy and emotion to users through our robust content library."

Tony Zameczkowski, Senior Vice President of Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) for The Walt Disney Company in the Asia Pacific region, highlighted the significance of the move. "This collaboration is a bold step for Disney+ and a key action in our Asia Pacific strategy," Zameczkowski commented. "We hope to set a new standard for cross-border cooperation within the industry."

Beyond this new partnership, TVING plans to leverage diverse industry collaborations to solidify its position as South Korea's leading OTT platform. The company is actively pursuing global expansion, aiming to reach markets worldwide, including the US and Latin America, beyond its current focus on Japan and the Asia Pacific region. This unprecedented three-way alliance marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the Korean streaming landscape, prioritizing consumer value and content diversity.
