Gathering of 800 members under the theme 'Sustainable Agriculture, Building the Future Together'

 

The Chungcheongbuk-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services (Director Cho Eun-hee) announced that it is holding the "38th Chungcheongbuk-do Rural Leaders Convention and Grand Prize Awards Ceremony" at the Boeun National Sports Center for a two-day run from September 30 to October 1, drawing about 800 rural leader members and related officials from across the province.

Held under the theme "Sustainable Agriculture, Building the Future Together," this year's convention is hosted by the Chungcheongbuk-do Federation of Rural Leaders (President Lim Jong-hyuk) and organized by the Boeun County Federation of Rural Leaders (President Lee Tae-soo). It is sponsored by Chungcheongbuk-do Province, Boeun County, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation Chungbuk Headquarters (Head Lee Yong-sun), and the Korea Rural Community Corporation Chungbuk Regional Headquarters (Head Kim Kyung-han).

The main programs for the first day include an awards ceremony for outstanding members and the grand prize, an exhibition and evaluation of excellent agricultural and specialty products, and a bumper crop song festival. The second day will feature a variety of rich programs, such as traditional folk games, a donation ceremony for "Love Rice," and the awards ceremony for the agricultural and specialty products exhibition.

Notably, during the grand prize awards ceremony held to honor members who have put the ideals of "Friendship, Service, and Creation" into practice through regional agricultural development and social contribution activities, Kim Jin-bok of Danyang County was awarded the Grand Prize.

In addition, Shin Hong-in of Eumseong County and Park Yong-gi of Chungju City were selected for the Friendship, Service, and Creation Awards. The Main Awards were given to eight individuals: Kim Gong-jung (Cheongju City), Lee Won-jae (Jecheon City), Lee Jun-ho (Boeun County), Son Kwang-bok (Okcheon County), Park Jong-seok (Yeongdong County), Yeon Je-young (Jeungpyeong County), Cho Young-jin (Jincheon County), and Kim Jae-kyung (Goesan County).

Furthermore, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Commendation was awarded to Lee Byung-ki of Jecheon City. The Rural Development Administration Administrator Commendations went to Lee Sung-il and Choi Deok-ho of Chungju City, Kim Jong-in of Jeungpyeong County, and Jang Sung-po of Yeongdong County. Provincial Governor Commendations were presented to 11 individuals, including Oh Won-bong from Cheongju City, along with two meritorious public officials.

A total of 46 individuals across 7 categories—including the Provincial Council Chairman Commendation (3 people), as well as commendations from the Central Federation President and the Chungbuk Federation President—won the honor of receiving awards. Meanwhile, the convention flag will be handed over to Eumseong County, the host of the upcoming 39th convention.

Governor Shin Yong-han expressed, "I extend my deep gratitude and respect to the 5,000 or so rural leader members who have steadfastly guarded agriculture and rural communities with the spirit of friendship, service, and creation. I ask that you continue to play a central role in leading a great transformation in Chungbuk agriculture through the expansion of smart farms and the practice of livelihood-oriented scientific farming, and I offer my sincere congratulations to everyone who received an award today."

Meanwhile, the Chungcheongbuk-do Rural Leaders Convention and Grand Prize Awards Ceremony is the provincial rural leaders' largest festival of harmony, designed to encourage the hard work of members who have contributed to agricultural and rural development, discover and award outstanding members, and promote unity and information sharing among members.
