Features Shared Offices, Open Lounges, Food Labs, and More—Targeting Completion by the End of this Year

Bucheon City announced on the 30th that construction work for the "Goriumjib Economic Experiment Center"—a regional hub space designed to support the economic activities and communication of residents in Gogang-dong, Ojeong-gu—has entered its final stages.

The "Goriumjib Economic Experiment Center" is being built at 389-2 Gogang-dong, Ojeong-gu, with a total floor area of 462.27 square meters and a scale of four stories above ground. It is designed as a space where residents can try out various economic activities and interact with one another, with the goal of completion by the end of this year.

Notably, Goriumjib was designed by reflecting residents' opinions from the initial planning stage. The city discussed space utilization plans with residents and incorporated their feedback into detailed construction processes, such as selecting the colors for internal and external finishing materials.

Goriumjib is organized into spaces that support resident communication and economic activities according to the characteristics of each floor. By subdividing the functions of each floor so that residents can freely communicate and attempt new economic activities, the utility of the space has been enhanced.

The 1st and 2nd floors feature a village cafe and an open lounge where residents can freely stay, communicate, and interact, serving as a community space for residents in their daily lives. The 3rd floor houses office space to support and research residents' startups and economic activities, while the 4th floor arranges a multipurpose space capable of running various programs such as meetings and education, aiming to back resident participation and capacity building.

Currently, final construction processes, including exterior finishing, are underway. The city plans to flawlessly wrap up the remaining construction and support operations after completion so that Goriumjib can firmly establish itself as a regional hub connecting residents' economic activities and communication.

"The Goriumjib Economic Experiment Center is a facility that has incorporated residents' opinions throughout the space starting from the planning stage," said Jang Beon-ja, Head of the Facility Construction Division at Bucheon City. "We will meticulously finish the remaining construction so that it can establish itself as a space where residents can carry out various activities and naturally interact with one another."
