30 Works Selected Featuring Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival and Kkumssi Family... To Be Sold at Festival

Daejeon City held the awards ceremony for the '28th Tourism Souvenir Contest' at Daejeon Artists' House on June 26. This contest was organized to discover and foster tourism souvenirs that embody Daejeon's cultural identity and to enhance the competitiveness of local tourism content.

This year's contest was held under the theme of the symbolism and diversity of the "Kkumssi Family" characters and the "Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival," with 60 creative and practical tourism souvenir entries. Among the submitted works, Daejeon City ultimately selected 30 outstanding pieces based on their artistic and commercial value, including "Dreaming Child (Metal)," "Kkumssi Family Travel (Textile)," and "Kkumdori Ceramic Holder (Ceramic)."

The winning entries will be exhibited in Exhibition Halls 1-3 at Daejeon Artists' House until June 28, and will be available for sale at the market booths during the '2025 Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival,' which will be held in August. The city expects these souvenirs to provide unique enjoyment and special memories for domestic and international tourists visiting the festival, playing a significant role in promoting Daejeon's charm.

Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo stated, "Crafts are a valuable asset that embodies Daejeon's culture and spirit, and they serve as a foundation for enhancing the city's appeal." He added, "These souvenirs, meticulously crafted by local artisans, will further enrich the 0 O'Clock Festival."

Meanwhile, the '2025 Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival' will be held for nine days, from August 8 to 16, primarily along a 1km section from Daejeon Station to the former Chungnam Provincial Office. During the festival period, various cultural programs, including street performances, exhibitions, and markets, are planned for the Jungang-ro and old downtown areas.
